The Chapel of Love

The Chapel of Love has a storied history that began over 40 years ago. Originally built on the service road off Highway 290 and the 71 in Oak Hill, the chapel fell into disrepair after years of neglect and was slated for demolition. Recognizing its potential and historical value, Rev. Lorelei and Rev. Ed reached out to their friends at Star Hill Ranch with a bold idea: relocate the chapel and transform it into a the only wedding chapel in Texas! 

With the support of their friends and the expertise of Adam Wooley, who knew the right company for the job, the chapel was successfully moved to Star Hill Ranch in 2020. The painstaking restoration process included installing new flooring, adding beautiful stained glass windows, and constructing front and back porches with steps. The exterior was enhanced with surrounding lights and tree-lined scenery, creating a picturesque setting.

Amidst the restoration, the pandemic struck, prompting the chapel to adapt and offer drive-up weddings. Despite these challenges, the Chapel of Love has flourished, hosting over 300 elopements since its reopening.

The 1974 Airstream was added in 2022 after being remodeled into a photo and celebration lounge. 

It proudly stands as the only chapel of its kind in Austin and possibly all of Texas, continuing to create unforgettable moments for couples from near and far.
